I’m super excited about the new tool I just got! Actually I’ve had one of these before, but somehow it either got lost in my bomb-of-a-craft-closet or at work. But I had a coupon for Joann’s and got it for $12 bucks!!
It’s the Darice Multi-Purpose Heat Tool. It’s basically a souped-up hairdryer, but at least now my husband won’t get mad when I steal it into the studio!
Emboss and shrink-wrap to your heart’s content with this handy heat gun. This heat gun heats and embosses without blowing away precious and pricey embossing powders. Shrink wrap packages and more with this terrific tool. Stand included. A vital tool for rubber stampers and crafters. 300 watts 3 amps 650 degrees. Safety shield that covers metal nozzle. Easy on/off switch with built-in bracket for self-support. UL approved
- Making giant candy props for a CANDYLAND themed party! Mostly paper-mache’d with paint & details
I use it to primarily dry paint. I’ve been working on some fun party props for a family Birthday party this weekend, & was getting tired of sitting around & watching paint dry. This little guy zaps the paint dry in a couple minutes, then I can go onto the next coat! I’ll have picts of all the finished Candy-Goodness next week after the party!
[box type="warning"] This Heat Gun gets HOT, HOT, HOT! Use caution, don’t touch any parts near the blower.
Also, when using to dry acrylic paint, don’t hold the tool too close to the paint. It gets so hot that it will bubble your paint up, or discolor. Hold about 12″ away & keep it constantly moving.[/box]
