Photos From my Sculpting Day Job – Borderlands 2

*This post is in Celebration of the release of the Video Game Borderlands 2. It’s been playing on my t.v. non-stop for the past week! It’s a pretty fun game, although definitely RATED M (for mature!)

Here are some pictures from my on-again-off-again day-job.  I work as a freelance scenic sculptor when I’m not being totally crafty & making Needle Felt Sculptures.

We work mostly in foam, yes, plain ol’ styrofoam. It’s actually a pretty forgiving medium for sculptures because you can carve it, shape it, sand it, mold it, glue it, etc. Most theme park rides & large movie sets are made from styrofoam!

These were some figures that I got to work on from an upcoming video game called Boarderlands 2. I didn’t work on the figures too much, except for the cool assassin, but I worked on making the guns. There was ALOT of hot glue involved!

Finished Borderlands 2 “Zero” Figure. I sculpted the head, worked on the body and accessories, & did the gun!
