We had a great day at the Fair! I love the fair & we go every year, but this year was super special. It was the first time that we had ever entered the Tapestry Competition. They have a huge Arts, Crafts, & Photography display that takes up a whole building. They have everything from painting, costumes, felting, pottery, to furniture, decorated Christmas Tress, to decorated themed table settings.
It was such a nice surprise to see that the two pieces that I entered won PRIZES!! The Sugar skull I made won First Place & The Giant Koi Fish won First Place & BEST IN SHOW for felting!! My husband also enter his first Photography competition & he won 3rd place! It was a winning day for the Mahuna household!
The real reason I was there was to do a Demo of Needle Felting. It was so great to meet the lovely ladies that work for the Fair & I also got to meet and introduce tons of people to the craft. It’s easy to talk about & explain your passion! I just hung out & worked on my new Peacock piece. Definitely doing it again next year!
There was also a ton of Fun Stuff that I had to snap a pict of! There was a whole section of “Traditional Crafts” that had felting, needle felting, and yarn spinning! It was nice to see the craft represented!

The Donkra… “It’s pretty much my favorite animal. It’s like a Zebra and a Donkey mixed… bred for its skills in magi
The Felted Chicken Head at the Fair!
Felted Chicken Head also had a ton of fun at the Fair! Here are a couple picts of his adventures, I’ll do an entire post tomorrow with more photos!!! (sneak peek…)
And finally I couldn’t finish this post today with out mentioning 911. I remember exactly where I was & what I did the entire day those long 11 years ago. Just wanted to remember and offer prayers to all those who lost friends & family that terrible day, & to thank all the First Responders who risked and lost theirs lives to help save others. We Remember….
